Private schools har saal fee hike karte hain, lekin kabhi-kabhi increase itna steep ya sudden hota hai ki parents genuine hardship face karte hain. Law broadly kehta hai ki schools business kar sakte hain, lekin arbitrary profiteering allowed nahi.
Kayi states me specific fee regulation laws/committees hote hain jo annual increase ki limit, transparency norms, audit requirements set karte hain. Parents big hikes ke against representation school management, parent-teacher bodies aur phir regulatory authority ko de sakte hain.
Legal challenge tab strong banta hai jab:
- Hike disproportionate ho compared to previous years,
- Proper justification, cost break-up na diya gaya ho,
- Mid-session fees change karke students ko pressure kiya gaya ho certificate/ exam ke naam pe.
Courts normally education institution ke internal policy me interfere reluctant hote hain, but clear exploitation aur unfair trade pattern pe judicial review open rehta hai.
Collective action (parents group) + written complaints + media + legal route combination se zyada effective pressure build hota hai, compared to individual scattered protests.
